In this spirit, Theodore Kyriakou, Chairman of Antenna Group, in partnership with the Atlantic Council, hosted a dinner in honor of Doug Burgum, U.S. Secretary of the Interior, and Chris Wright, U.S. Secretary of Energy, during the sixth Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC) conference in Athens.
The event convened more than 80 leaders from the political and business sectors of the United States and Europe. Among those present were more than 10 Ministers from both regions, 4 officials from the White House, 5 members of the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle. Energy security and affordability, infrastructure projects, and investment opportunities were major topics of discussion.
The event took place during a critical moment for Europe’s energy security. Governments across the continent are advancing policies and partnerships to guarantee stable, sustainable energy flows for decades to come. For the first time in 40 years, exploratory offshore drilling will be carried out in the Ionian Sea. And the governments of the US, Greece, Cyprus and Israel have reaffirmed their commitments to strengthening energy security in the Eastern Mediterranean. U.S. support has proven vital to these advances and Greece’s central geographic location, infrastructure, pipelines, economic and political stability positions it as a natural hub for energy cooperation between the U.S., Europe, and the Eastern Mediterranean.
This initiative represents another step by Theodore Kyriakou and Antenna Group to contribute to partnerships between countries and regions that promote geopolitical stability and investment. Alongside Frederick Kempe, President and CEO of the Atlantic Council, Theodore Kyriakou recently announced, on the margins of the 80th UN General Assembly and in the presence of 30 prime ministers and senior political, investment, and business leaders, the launch of a groundbreaking Summit for Europe and the Gulf: the Alliance for Europe–Gulf Geopolitics and Investment Summit (AEGGIS), scheduled to take place in spring 2026.

Stravros Papastravou, amazing, your leadership, the Prime Minister of Greece, everybody pulling this together. I know our amazing US ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle was not taking no for an answer trying to put things forward. This reflects the Trump administration. President Trump is the peace President. He gets up every day and says, how can I stop another conflict? And literally the one that’s on his mind right now is Russia, Ukraine. And we’re at a spot right now. The news coming out of this back to Washington about the fact that it’s not just talk, but it’s real progress, the vertical corridor can be an anchor for Eastern Europe, a place that’s gone through a hundred years of either war or the threat of war that we could have security because energy security is national security. It is prosperity. That’s happening because of all of you. This is the small group of people that is changing the world.”

Everyone traveled and made this an important thing to do. And really what we’re talking about is freedom, security, and energy”, said Chris Wright, United States Secretary of Energy, in his remarks. “I summarize those things as freedom and energy. I’m also thankful for President Trump. How did energy become the center of the dialogue in the United States? Really, one reason. President Trump got elected president. We all came together to enhance the energy systems for our people, for both to lift up the economic opportunity of all the nations represented here and all of our neighbors, and to remove our dependence for energy on an entity that doesn’t believe in freedom and prosperity and all the things we hold dear.”
“We had two days of spectacular success.” said Stavros Papastavrou, Minister of Environment and Energy of Greece. “Theo Kyriakou, who I thank with Atlantic Council for hosting this dinner, mentioned the historic agreement about Exxon Mobil, Hellenic Energy, and Energia. And this is indeed a historic achievement for Greece, going back to the offshore drilling. Greece is back to the drilling board after 40 years. But on top of this agreement, today, we had the vertical corridor governments met around the same table and agreeing to have a weekly or bi-monthly working group in order to target one by one the specific bottlenecks and try to resolve and create the efficiency.”
